AirSuite sensor compatibility with Wi-Fi access points
AirSuite Wi-Fi devices (AirSuite Sense Wi-Fi, formerly known as Classmate Pro) support all standard consumer-grade Wi-Fi access points with the following Wi-Fi configurations:
The Wi-Fi network must not use a captive portal (a web page that requires users to log in or accept terms before accessing the Internet). There is no way for an AirSuite Wi-Fi device to accept the terms prevented by the captive portal, which prevents it from being able to access the Internet. Captive portals are commonly used in public or “guest” Wi-Fi networks, such as those found in cafes, hotels, and airports, and are sometimes also used on corporate networks.
Please note that AirSuite devices do not currently support the following Wi-Fi configurations:
If your Wi-Fi access point has an incompatible configuration (an unsupported band or channel) it is unlikely to appear in the nearby Wi-Fi network scan results.
AirSuite reserves the right to update the requirements below at any time. If you operate in a restricted network environment, please let us know, so that we can ensure we notify you about any upcoming changes.
In enterprise deployments, firewall settings must permit AirSuite devices to access the Internet on the following ports:
If your enterprise network restricts access to specific endpoints, please ensure the following domains, and wildcard subdomains, are accessible (i.e. added to an allowlist):
Important: AirSuite Cloud services/endpoints are hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS), using shared IP addresses that may change at any time, so IP-based allowlisting is not supported. If this is a limitation, then using AirSuite LTE devices is likely to be a better fit for your organisation.
For devices that have not connected in a while (and not yet received the latest firmware update), the following domains may also be required:
